Case Studies
Much of this Guide contains
text-book descriptions of different planning techniques or legislation. But in the end you need to know how it all
fits together. This part of the Guide lets
you see how different tools might be used together to try to protect a
watershed.
Our Case Studies are stories
about watershed management problems that come up every day. Although the specifics of each case study is
fictional, the Case Studies tell how a community group faced with a particular
type of problem might analyze the situation, develop a strategy and use the
available tools to try to protect their watershed. By reading about how one group might try to protect their
watershed, we hope that you may come up with ideas about how you can protect
yours.
We have case studies about:
·
Subdivision Threat – A private
developer intends to fill in a wetland in order to build and sell a series of
housing units. A local environmental
organization decides to protect the wetland.
Other case studies are under
development and will be posted as they are completed.
